Sarkozy Wants Google Tax - French Double Tax Website Earnings

Nicolas Sarkozy, husband of music businesswoman Carla Bruni, wants to tax Google advertising income for clicks from French users. Some of the funds would then be passed to young people in the form of a card worth 200 euros ($290US) that could be used to download music from Apple and other outlets.

Sarkozy’s attack of corporations on the Internet is far reaching and will eventually affect every website that earns from a French click.

Garden City, NY – Police on Long Island have arrested James Roppo, 44, of Hoboken NJ and charged him with a litany of misdemeanors. Nassau County Police Detective Lt. Kevin Smith claims “We asked for his help in getting the crowd to go away by sending out a Twitter message. By not cooperating with us, we feel he put lives in danger and the public at risk.” So it was that the law demands you Twitter or go to jail.

New Site, New Content and More at Tek Talk

Hello there fans! Been a week since the great crash, or maybe I should say hack.

A horde of hackers got into a WordPress install and wiped out many sites on the server in accomplishing this. As we went through the sites restoring TekTalk database was destroyed in the process.

A Jun 2008 database was recovered and some posts will start to re-appear here that were important historically. Otherwise we will continue to report the latest events and news in the tech heavy world on this new install.

Since it was never their intention to complete it is nothing to worry about for Google, but Yahoo’s Yang bet his stockholders equity on it. Now months later Jerry Yang admits the Microsoft deal is the best he could get. But Microsoft has gone stage left and whatever offer it may make will be far less than last spring.

Yahoo held a three day press conference in Washington last week to defend its joining in the Google adsense network. At risk here is creating a search advertising monopoly that grants Google 80 percent of the online advertising for search returns. Google is being evil and Yahoo is desperate for those Adsense revenues.
