How to remove MySearchDial
I just spent a whole morning working to get rid of the last remnants of this horrible Malware and hope to warn you of its dangers before it loads on you!
I downloaded a youtube file downloader, or at least that was what I was looking for. Like many software packages it asks to load “affiliated” software and toolbars. I hate those extras and made sure that I told the software not to load it. Instead it loaded this horrible My Search Dial Malware package. It left all kinds of garbage on my desktop including games links and such. Worse than that it altered the registry and took over the browsers, new tabs and other pages.
Once loaded the MySearchDial software took over the home page. There was no override. So I went to the add/remove programs and removed the MySearchDial Malware and thought that would be the end. No way. This Malware held onto the newtabs feature and loaded its Malware into the browser anyway.
Next I went to the regedit and did a find on MySearchDial and up popped tons of stuff. I deleted the major MySearchDial entry and changed every URL to one I liked, my own homepage. While this helped it did not do as good a job as I wanted as MySearchDial still controlled the page for new tabs.
I went to the options in Firefox and found MySearchDial was still in there too as an extension! So I had to delete that, just go and disable it will soon disappear.
While the actual MySearchDial site will tell you how to remove the program it does not tell you how to get rid of the other settings it corrupts with its commercial friends.
Malware is software that acts badly. My Search Dial is Malware. It takes over browser features without notice, without asking, and without leaving a path to exit its properties. Get it out of your system today!
