Okay folks! Here it is, the June roll out of the list of sites showing up as spam referrals! Lots of new sites and lots of lower level domain names being used to spam the world. It seems the release of so many new low level domain names has opened up a can of worms for all of us.
The new low level domain names come with higher prices than the .net, .org, and .com prices and renewals go up exponentially. They will end up costing people more in the end. That said, the real issue is it is easier to knock the whole low level out since most referrals do not come from them…. yet.
Time will show and we will accommodate that when it happens.
In the meantime this list really helps you find the sites that really are linking to you. It also lets you read log files better as many hits come from these sites. Many of the sites are actually good sites, but somehow they have probably taken out a plan to get more traffic and the black hat optimizing company uses the referral spam to give it to them. Knowing that many site owners will go to the sites thinking they are being linked to. Many times it is a great site but not only nothing to do with yours but never is there a link that was hit to get to your site. So where did the referrals come from? Black Hat hacks that feed you a variety of names when they hit your site. Robots and spiders are sent out to do it.
Well, here is the new list, you can just use a diff program to break it out and just add the new ones, or just replace the block in your .htaccess file. Make sure to contact me if you find one I do not have! We can’t always keep up and this is by no way every spammer site.
